The first step to achieving a dream is to dream it... IMAGINE YOUR HEALTH CAREER!
INTERACTIVE WORKSHOPS Learn more about specific health careers, talk with leaders in the professions and get inspired! Students will choose two workshops from ten offerings.
GAMES Get to know teens who share your dreams and questions. Learn together about challenging health conditions while you build research, communication and collaboration skills.
KEYNOTE PRESENTER: DR. BEN LITTENBERG Teaming Up To Beat the Odds: Nine Days After Hurricane Katrina What difference can one person make? The sky’s the limit when you join forces with others! Listen to Dr. Littenberg, internist at Fletcher Allen Health Care, describe nine days he’ll never forget as he battled with scores of health care workers and citizens to overcome daunting challenges and rebuild health care systems ravaged by Katrina.
BECOMING A ROLE MODEL Health care today focuses on healthy choices and prevention! Learn to be a role model during exercise breaks, healthy meals and snacks, and social time.
TIME FOR DIALOGUE Our workshops and skill sessions will be small and interactive. You’ll have plenty of time to ask questions, talk with fellow students, and reflect on the possibilities of a career in health care.
We haven't forgotten to include some SATURDAY NIGHT R & R! Essex CHIPS & Teen Center is a youth-led organization that works to inspire youth and build healthy communities. Its Teen Center includes a Stomping Ground Coffeehouse nightclub that features youth bands, open mike nights and DJs. CHIPS will bring the Stomping Ground Coffeehouse to Take the Next Step!

PRACTICE WHAT IT TAKES!
SKILL SESSIONS Work with health care students who’ve been in your shoes. Get advice and practice strategies that will help you succeed in high school and future studies. Learn how to take care of yourself and manage stress. Students will choose 2 sessions from ten offerings.
TEAM PRESENTATIONS Teams share what they’ve learned in a lively and moving closing ceremony.
