August 4th - 6th, 2018

UNE Health Careers Exploration Camp 2-Page Brochure

For the past several years, the University of New England has hosted a Dental Careers Exploration Camp. This year, rather than focusing solely on careers in the dental field, the camp will feature several health professions in the University's first annual interprofessional health careers exploration camp.

The goal of the camp is to provide an opportunity for high school students from rural or underserved communities to explore various careers in health care.

Applications are accepted from students throughout the US who will be entering grades 10 - 12 in Fall 2018. Students from rural and underserved communities, and those who have more limited access to such opportunities will be given priority consideration.

This camp is an overnight camp, designed to replicate some of the college experience. As such, students will stay in dorms on the University's Biddeford Campus and will receive meals at the campus dining hall.

At this year's camp, students will participate in fun hands-on activities while learning about careers in:
  • Dentistry
  • Medicine
  • Nursing
  • Pharmacy
  • Social Work
Students will also participate in activities organized by the Executive Director of the organization iXplore STEM.
