Nursing Loan Forgiveness (For Nursing Students)
The Vermont General Assembly has passed legislation on nursing loan forgiveness (for students in an RN or LPN program in Vermont).
Students in RN or LPN programs in Vermont should contact the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) at 1-800-642-3177, and request information about the Vermont State Nursing Incentive Scholarship to apply to the loan forgiveness program.
Loan Repayment (For Working Nurses)
The Nursing Educational Loan Repayment Program is funded by the State of Vermont, through the Department of Health for RNs and LPNs working in Vermont. It is administered by the University of Vermont, College of Medicine, Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Program.
The goal of the Nursing Educational Loan Repayment Program is to ensure a stable and adequate supply of nurses (LPNs and RNs) to meet the needs of delivering care to Vermonters.
